The poster presentation of the Military Medical Academy’s thoracic surgeons led by Dr. Natasa Vesovic was proclaimed one of the two best works according to the opinion of the scientific committee of the Southeast European Congress of Emergency Medicine.

In addition to sessions and courses, poster presentations submitted in the categories of doctors and medical technicians were an integral part of the scientific program. Presentation of the MMA doctors with the topic "The role of video-assisted thoracoscopy in the diagnosis and treatment of pleural diseases" was selected for the best of the 64 submitted posters. The poster with the treatment results of MMA patients over a period of one and a half years based on parameters such as wider diagnostic and treatment options, lower pain intensity and shorter postoperative hospital stay, presented the advantage of minimally invasive VATS surgery in relation to other modalities of surgical treatment.

The Congress, organized by the Association of Emergency Medicine Physicians of Serbia and supported by the European Association for Emergency Medicine, gathered over 200 participants from 12 countries in the region, and the program covered the most important topics in this branch of medicine, which is of great importance in the medical science world.
